About Us

A vibrant and innovative performing arts organization, ZACH Theatre creates intimate professional theatre that ignites the imagination, lifts the spirit and engages our community. Each year, ZACH serves nearly 115,000 Central Texans – 58,000 of which are children and youth who participate in our education and outreach programs, as well as exciting camps and classes. ZACH productions span a dynamic range of programming that includes both professional Mainstage plays and musicals, and Theatre for Families. ZACH incubates original work, cultivating, commissioning, developing and producing new plays and musicals by playwrights and composers from Central Texas as well as internationally-acclaimed artists. As Austin’s leading professional producing theatre, ZACH employs more than 300 actors, musicians, and designers annually to create its own diverse array of nationally recognized plays and musicals.

Thanks to the support from individual donors last season, we produced an incredible season of over 660 performances, awarded over $90,000 in student scholarships, and provided over 30,000 free or reduced-cost tickets to Title 1 students.

With ticket sales covering just 47% of our operating costs, support from the Austin community is paramount to our ability to provide accessible arts education to all in our community and produce art that is truly by Austin, for Austin—art that our community can be proud to call its own.
